Who are your favorite artists?
I’ve got quite a mix of favorite artists – BTS, Park Bogum (who surprised us with an album before he went off for military service in 2020), The Backstreet Boys, Gavin DeGraw, Justin Young, The Corrs, Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow, and Colbie Caillat. But for now, I’ll talk about BTS and why they’re one of my absolute favorites.
BTS represents many things to many people. A significant part of their appeal lies in the honesty of their music and their genuine approach to it. Their music is inspiring on multiple levels, promoting resilience, self-acceptance, and the pursuit of dreams. What’s incredible is that you can resonate with their songs at different stages of your life.
βI urge you to listen to your heart. Things may feel a little difficult right now, but somewhere out there, luck and opportunity is waiting for you. I believe that.β – V of BTS

But it’s not just their music that’s inspiring. Their individual and group story is equally compelling. I’m inspired by their journey to fame and how they never let adversity deter them. Even during their toughest times in 2018 when they faced immense pressure, dealt with haters π, and confronted individual struggles, they persevered and pulled through.
Also, their relationship with each other is truly inspirational. The mutual respect and love they share, the support they provide, and the regard they hold for one another are truly admirable. You can clearly see the family-first mentality within the group.
βIf any of you feels lost in the face of uncertainty or the pressure of starting anew, donβt rush.Β Take a deep breath. You may find that any moment can be turned into opportunity.β – Jin of BTS

I’ve been watching their videos from their pre-debut days and early years as a group. It’s incredibly inspiring to see how far they’ve come, and what’s even more inspiring is that fame hasn’t changed them. They remain a humble group of people who, despite their fame, status, and wealth, still get excited about simple things like a free rice cooker or playfully fighting over an ice cream. π€£
It’s truly humbling and inspiring to witness their journey. BTS serves as a reminder that even in the spotlight, staying grounded and true to oneself is possible. Their unwavering dedication, authenticity, and remarkable camaraderie make them not just a band I adore, but a group of individuals I find deeply motivating.
