Daily Prompt: Money for Nothing

If you’re like most of us, you need to earn money by working for a living. Describe your ultimate job. If you’re in your dream job, tell us all about it — what is it that you love? What fulfills you? If you’re not in your dream job, describe for us what your ultimate job would be.

When I was a child I used to wear a lot of white clothes because my dream job then was to be a doctor up until I discovered computers in high school. But during that time, I also developed a major interest in writing. I believe it was because reading novels became my favorite pastime. I actually started to write a novel and finished 3 chapters but my interest shifted once again from wanting to save lives to wanting to be a writer then to complete geekiness because I desperately wanted to learn computer programming. I was so curious as to how software applications were created. I wanted to gain a better understanding about coding and how it works. I was fascinated  about the whole thing. From then on, I decided that I will study computer information systems in college. However, I took a break from attending school and while on a break, I once again developed a new interest and this time with photography. Although I’ve always liked photography it wasn’t until 8 years ago when I really got serious about it. Now I’m never without my camera and I take photos of everything that interests me. I also love to travel and wish that I can afford to travel all year round. That’s what my dream job would be to travel, take photographs of the places that I have the privilege of visiting and write about my experiences and what I learned about its people, culture and history. Something that allows me to do what I enjoy and express my creativity at the same time. In short, Samantha Brown’s job is my dream job! 😉

    1. That’s awesome! I finished college with a bachelor’s degree in information systems but never had the chance to use what I’ve learned in programming in the real world. I ended up doing mostly the technical stuff, helpdesk/network admin stuff and worked on SharePoint too. I do web design on the side as well. Though my dream jobb is to travel, write and take photos, I hope someday I get to explore my love for coding as well. I really miss it! You’re absolutely right, we have to keep expanding our curiosity! 😀
