Food for Thought: October 1

October has a way of showing us that letting go is part of life.

We see it happening all around us. The season changes, the leaves begin to fall, and nature doesn’t fight to keep what has already served its purpose.

This month’s theme, Harvest & Letting Go, is about looking at what our experiences have given us while also recognizing what we don’t need to keep carrying. Maybe it’s an expectation that no longer fits. A regret we keep revisiting. A plan that didn’t work out. An old version of ourselves we’ve been trying to return to.

Letting go doesn’t mean something didn’t matter. It doesn’t erase what happened or ask us to pretend we’re unaffected by it. Sometimes it simply means accepting that something can be meaningful and still be finished.

And there’s a harvest in that too. We get to keep the lesson, the memory, the love, the wisdom, or whatever the experience left within us without holding onto everything that came with it.

As we move through October together, let’s notice what’s worth keeping and what we’re ready to carry a little less of.

Not everything that shaped you needs to stay heavy.
Some experiences taught you something valuable even though you wouldn’t choose to live through them again.
You can remember what happened without returning emotionally to the same place every time.
Take what helped you understand yourself, life, or other people more clearly.
The lesson can stay even when the weight begins to leave. 💜

What lesson are you ready to keep while releasing some of the weight attached to how you learned it?
