Voices That Inspire Me

List the people you admire and look to for advice…

When it comes to personal matters, I don’t usually turn to others for advice. That sacred space is saved for my husband. He’s my best friend, my partner in everything. We confide in each other, talk through all the highs and lows, and always find comfort in knowing that we’re in this together, no matter what life brings our way.

But beyond that, I find so much wisdom in the quiet moments and the words that come from books. I’ve always been drawn to stories of growth, manifestation, and strength. The Secret and The Power were gifts from my husband, and those books opened my eyes to the possibility of creating a life of gratitude and intention. Wayne Dyer’s teachings have helped me embrace purpose and align my actions with the things that matter most. Eckhart Tolle reminds me that presence is the only thing I can control, and I don’t need to get lost in the chaos of my thoughts. Then there’s Stoicism—steady, quiet wisdom that keeps me grounded by reminding me to focus only on what’s in my hands.

Every day, I listen to Joel Osteen. His messages are uplifting, but what touches me most are the stories of the callers—people sharing their breakthroughs, struggles, and faith. It’s a powerful reminder that no matter where we are in life, there’s always a greater purpose unfolding.

One of my latest favorites is Don’t Worry by Shunmyo Masuno. The simple but profound line, “Just be, as you are. Don’t focus on things you have no control over,” resonates deeply with me. I’ve learned not to dwell on things that didn’t go according to plan. If something didn’t work out the way I envisioned, I trust that it wasn’t meant for me. Maybe I’m being saved from something that could hurt me, or maybe there’s something better waiting on the other side.

And then, there’s my Bible app. Every morning and evening, a verse pops up, and it always seems to speak to exactly what I need in that moment. Sometimes, it’s a simple reminder to be grateful, other times it’s a nudge to trust in the timing of my life.

So, while I may not turn to others for advice very often, I find clarity in these quiet moments of reflection. In the books that offer comfort and guidance, the stories of others, and the heartfelt conversations with the one person who knows me best. Because sometimes, the greatest wisdom doesn’t come from asking others what to do—but from learning how to listen to your own soul and trust the journey.
