Why I’m Not the Camping Type (But I’d Totally Glamp)

Daily writing prompt
Have you ever been camping?

I’ve always thought camping looked beautiful in photos—sunlight peeking through the trees, cozy fireside moments, and families bundled up in flannel sipping hot cocoa. It all seems so peaceful and picture-perfect.

But in real life? I’m not so sure I’m cut out for it.

The bugs, the sleeping bags, the unpredictable weather, and the whole “pee in the woods” situation? No thank you. I love nature—but I also love hot showers, warm beds, and coffee that doesn’t come with a side of mosquito bites.

That’s where glamping comes in—and honestly, I think that’s more my speed.

Glamping offers the beauty of nature with a comfortable twist—tranquil settings, scenic views, and the crisp scent of pine, all paired with real beds, private bathrooms, and maybe even a few luxe touches.

The idea of waking up to birdsong, sipping tea on a private deck wrapped in a cozy blanket, and falling asleep under the stars without sacrificing comfort? That sounds like a getaway I can get behind.

I haven’t gone glamping yet, but if I do, it’ll be somewhere that feels like a little slice of calm—surrounded by nature, but with all the comforts that make me feel at home. Think dreamy cabins, twinkling string lights, a comfy robe, and zero chance of waking up with a rock in my back.

So no, I probably won’t be pitching a tent anytime soon. But a stylish tent with a real bed and a view? That’s a different story.
