What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?
One of my goals in life is to help spread awareness about OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) in order to help end the stigma. As someone who suffers from OCD, it is very important to me that people have a better understanding of what it really means to have an OCD. Many people assume that OCD is just a habit or that it’s all just in the mind or a choice or some kind of joke. Most people think that OCD can be controlled and there are also those who often misuse the term “OCD”. Honestly, it is disrespectful and insensitive to associate the term OCD with other types of behavior that are clearly not associated with the illness. These are just some of my concerns about how others perceive OCD to be that is why I want to help educate people about it. I want to be an instrument of change and I am hoping that my blog can help me achieve that. As I’ve mentioned from a previous post, I want to inspire people in any way that I can be it big or small. I mention about my OCD every now and then because I want people to know that people with OCD are just like everyone else. OCD does not define who we are. It is an illness but it is not our entire being. Yes, we have struggles but we are PERFECTLY NORMAL. Who doesn’t have any struggles in the first place! We all do! Just in different ways. But what we need is support and understanding most especially from our closest family and friends.

Very well said. My third to the oldest grandson has OCD and he is a very bright, intelligent, active, normal kid. I just love him to pieces!
