My Favorite Pit Stops at Highway 1
Traveling from San Diego to Santa Barbara can be quite a drive especially when you hit the traffic which is almost always unless you leave at the crack of dawn. In my case it’s rare that I leave the house before 10 AM on a weekend to head on a road trip. Since getting stuck in traffic is already expected, I make it a point to make the drive more interesting by making a pit stop at notable places along the route. Exploring is always fun and I always discover something unique about each place. It does however make the trip longer before reaching your destination but it’s always worth learning something new! 🙂
Here are some photos from my favorite pit stops along Highway 1.

I had to have my souvenir photo as I love the view mucho from up here! 🙂
Pacific Coast Highway
This is a MUST stop for my fellow Fast and Furious fans. The very first installment of the series was filmed here where Paul Walker (my favorite actor, humanitarian and philanthropist) and Vin Diesel were discussing some “business” and eating some shrimp. I’ve had dinner here before and I must say that it’s worth checking out. I love their clam strips and especially the New England clam chowder. 🙂

Just moi posing! 😀
…..and I had to do my “happy” jump since I love this place! 🙂

I regret not climbing this sand hill but then again that’s something I’m looking forward to on my next trip near the area. 🙂

The Mugu Rock is a distinctive feature of the coastal headland promontory that has been featured in many film shoots and television commercials. The Rock was formed when a path for the Pacific Coast Highway was cut through the mountain. It marks a western end of the Santa Monica Mountains, and the old Rancho Guadalasca boundary. It is a popular but dangerous place for fishing, sightseeing, cliff diving, and rock climbing up the sheer sides of the rock itself. On Thanksgiving, November 27, 2008 three young men from nearby Oxnard, California were swept to sea and killed by a rogue wave while surf watching from Mugu Rock. (Wikipedia)

RIP Pablo. You are greatly missed by many. THANK YOU for all your efforts (and to your charity Reach Out Worldwide) in helping my home country of Philippines during typhoon Haiyan. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of many. ♥
“ How you look at a situation is very important, for how you think about a problem may defeat you before you ever do anything about it. When you get discouraged or depressed, try changing your attitude from negative to positive and see how life can change for you. Remember, your attitude toward a situation can help you to change it — you create the very atmosphere for defeat or victory." – Franco Harris View all posts by exploreadventurediscover.com

Ooops, just saw the answer. 😀 Gotta do it. Muscle it in next time. One climb is easy.
