Ah, fortune cookies! Slightly sweet and crunchy! One of my favorite cookies! I am one of those people who gets excited when I know that I get to have a fortune cookie after meal! Not only because I love the taste of it but I also always look forward to what my fortune cookie says! One time when I was out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant, as the waitress handed the bill and the fortune cookies, she said that if there is more than one fortune cookie you have to toss it in the air and the cookie that lands with its pointy part facing you is the one that’s meant for you. So since then that sort of became a tradition when it comes to fortune cookies 😉 I get so anxious and can’t wait to read my fortune every time hoping that it’s always something positive and that it would come true. On New Year’s eve when I opened my last fortune cookie for 2012, my fortune says “A pleasant surprise is coming your way” and I said to myself…“wow, I wonder what that is…could it be career related or personal…eh…whatever…it says pleasant so I’ll just wait and be surprised 🙂“. Apparently I didn’t have to wait too long because on Friday night at a friend’s birthday party my brother and sister-in-law were also there plus my precious ‘lil nephew Daniel whom I’m meeting for the very first time! He’s almost a year old (turning 1 in Feb) and he’s cute as a button! He didn’t cry at all and was very friendly and sociable ‘lil fella 🙂 He’s an adorable happy baby who giggled a lot, got excited and screamed with his cute little voice every time the dog barked and smiled a lot! I just love him! My very first nephew! I couldn’t be happier! Yes, I’m a proud aunt and loving every minute of it! ♥♡♥

My fortune cookie was right…it was a pleasant surprise indeed! 😀
