My Favorite Type of Weather

Daily writing prompt
What is your favorite type of weather?

You know that feeling when the weather is just perfect? Not too hot, not too cold—just that sweet spot where you step outside, take a deep breath, and everything feels right. That’s my kind of weather. And if I had to choose, I’d be stuck between two favorites: the warm, sunny days of spring and those cool, breezy fall afternoons. They both hit differently, depending on my mood.

Spring warmth is the best kind of warmth—the kind that makes you want to be outside all day. It’s when the world starts waking up again, and flower fields explode with color. Tulips, daffodils, roses, sunflowers… they all just make everything look alive. The sun is shining, but not in an overbearing I-need-air-conditioning-now kind of way. It’s more like a gentle hug. The air smells fresh, there’s a little breeze, and it feels like a fresh start. I love days like that—whether I’m wandering through a flower field, heading to the beach before summer crowds take over, or just sitting outside soaking it all in.

Then there’s fall. And let me tell you, fall is a whole mood. The air turns crisp, leaves start changing, and suddenly, everything feels cozier. There’s nothing like throwing on a comfy sweater, stepping outside, and feeling that cool breeze hit just right. It’s the kind of weather that makes road trips extra special—driving through winding roads with trees showing off in every shade of red, orange, and yellow. It’s peaceful, it’s refreshing, and honestly, it’s the perfect excuse to slow down and just be.

So, how do I choose between them? Honestly… I don’t. Some days, I crave that warm, sun-kissed feeling of spring; other days, I just want to bundle up in the crisp, comforting air of fall. It really depends on what my heart needs at the moment. And maybe that’s the beauty of it—weather isn’t just about temperature; it’s about the vibe, the memories, and the little moments it creates.
