What skill would you like to learn?
Currently, I’m focused on rebuilding my portfolio, as I mentioned in my previous post. I’m in the process of expanding my knowledge in graphic design and practicing the skills I’ve acquired. It’s important for me to stay updated with current trends, especially since I took a break for a few years to prioritize family life.
Lately, I’ve developed a strong interest in video editing. I’ve always enjoyed capturing videos and enhancing them. In today’s fast-paced digital age, there’s so much to learn. I can still vividly remember my first video camera, a Sony Hi8 camcorder, which I cherished and used to record countless videos. However, as time passed, it became challenging to use it because it required additional gadgets to convert the 8mm tape to digital format, along with extra software. Despite the effort, I managed to convert many videos. Watching those recordings from the late ’90s brings back a flood of nostalgia when I was in my late teens.
There’s something truly invaluable about preserving memories. That’s why I’m eager to enhance my video editing skills. I’m already familiar with a couple of video editing softwares, but I’m eager to expand my knowledge and expertise further. I’m even considering investing in a new Sony camcorder in the future. These days, I rely on my Canon EOS 7D for video recording or simply use my phone. However, having a dedicated device for capturing videos has its appeal. For water activities, my trusty Fuji FinePix XP 130 and GoPro Hero 4, which have served me well for 7-8 years, continue to perform admirably. I especially appreciate the convenience of the WiFi feature on the Fuji FinePix, making file transfers to my phone a breeze. π
