Wanderlust Wednesday: Fall in Love with Montreal

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” ❤️ – F. Scott Fitzgerald

I can’t believe it’s officially fall. Why does everything seem to be moving at the speed of light these days? Is it just me? Or that’s just how it is when you’re aging. Let me rephrase that, gracefully aging. 🤣 Sometimes I feel like I can’t even catch up with everything. Time seems to be going extra fast after becoming a parent. I guess watching your child grow and reach milestones has that effect on you. It’s like a bittersweet moment for parents but I feel very blessed that I get to experience the joys of parenthood. It can be challenging at times but oh so rewarding. 💖

I can feel the weather changing. It feels kind of “fall-ish” this morning. If that’s even a word. 😁 My husband said he was cold when getting ready for work and he’s never cold. He’s always warm and so is my daughter. Baby girl said she was cold upon waking up too. I’ve worn my fleece jacket a few times already but not all day. Just late at night or early morning. Sweater weather is here folks! Though I’m a little bummed that summer is over, especially because we got so much rain this past summer and it happened mostly on the weekends 🙄, I’m also looking forward to seeing the beautiful colors of fall. 🍁🧡

Fall is also a great season for exploring. Traveling in the fall is such an experience. There’s so much beauty in those colorful leaves falling from the trees when the cool breeze blows- everything is so poetic.. until you start getting cold, so make sure to always bring a warm jacket. 🤣 Kidding aside, fall is truly a beautiful season. A perfect time to reflect and be grateful for the many blessings in life.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve had the chance of visiting in the fall is Montreal. The trees are bursting with vibrant colors and the crisp air truly makes you fall in love with the season. Walking in the park and simply enjoying the beautiful scenery is so refreshing and calming. It gives you this sense of peace and serenity. The perfect way to reset before the chaos of the holiday season comes. It’s like the calm before the storm. 🤣

If you’ve never been to Montreal add it to your bucket list. It’s so stunning in the fall. My husband and I were there for two nights only but were able to see a lot. One of our favorite stops is at Parc La Fontaine. It is such a beautiful park. A nice place to take a walk and just soak in the beauty of the season. After seeing the park, we wished we had booked for another night but we were on a month-long road trip and didn’t want to mess up our schedule. We started our trip from Toronto – Montreal – Quebec City – Nova Scotia. We ended up with quick side trips to Fredericton and St. John too before heading back to the U.S. It was a crazy schedule but so memorable.

We arrived in Montreal on a rainy night after exploring Toronto. After checking in, we went out for a bit to see downtown Montreal at night. The rain had also stopped at this time. The next day we headed out early and our first stop was at Parc La Fontaine.

When we got to the park, we saw people were riding their bikes, taking leisurely walks, and some with their dogs. There were squirrels everywhere and they were so cute. 😍 Some even posed for photos. 🤣 And of course, we took photos of ourselves with our ever-trusted tripod that has traveled with us everywhere.

This park is truly a gem and it’s just one part of Montreal. It’s worth visiting in addition to Mount Royal Park and along the Lachine Canal.
