When people think of a shopping spree, they often imagine luxury boutiques and designer brands. Mine would look very different. My dream shopping spree would be a mix of places that reflect our family’s interests, hobbies, and the little things that bring us joy.
One of my first stops would definitely be a bookstore. I’ve always loved wandering through the aisles and taking my time browsing the shelves. When we go to a bookstore as a family, our routine usually starts in my daughter’s section. She loves browsing through toys, books, and art-related items.
Once it’s my turn, I naturally gravitate toward the self-help, personal growth, and inspirational sections. I also enjoy browsing the travel and photography sections. Since I enjoy photography and creating travel content, those sections always inspire me and spark ideas for future adventures.
Another stop would definitely be stores that carry fun collectibles like MINISO or LINE FRIENDS stores. I enjoy browsing their cute and colorful merchandise, especially anything related to BT21, BTS, or Hello Kitty. We would also visit places like Five Below—it’s one of those stores where you never know what you’ll find.
Of course, we would stop by a trading card store for my husband. He enjoys collecting, trading, and sometimes selling cards, so that’s always an exciting stop for him. Another store we love visiting is FAO Schwarz. My daughter absolutely loves it there, but honestly, my husband and I enjoy it just as much.
For collectibles and creative builds, we would definitely visit a LEGO store. It’s always exciting to see the displays and look for collectible or limited-release sets. There’s a special kind of thrill in finding those hard-to-find or exclusive items that aren’t available everywhere else.
Since we enjoy food adventures too, I would also include Asian and Filipino grocery stores. Places like H Mart and Marukai are always fun to explore for Japanese and Korean snacks, and of course we would stop by Seafood City for Filipino finds that remind me of home.
For clothing and accessories, I enjoy browsing stores like Cole Haan, Ann Taylor, Loft, Gap, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Levi’s, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off 5th. For athletic wear, we love Nike, Columbia, Eddie Bauer and especially Adidas. We would probably stop by Target and Walmart too, mainly because my daughter loves exploring the toy aisles.
Electronics stores would definitely be another highlight. I would head to Best Buy for the latest gadgets and creative tools. I’d also be sure to shop at BJ’s, Sam’s Club, and Costco since those warehouse clubs often have great deals on electronics and photography essentials. I would spend plenty of time browsing cameras and photography gear because capturing travel moments and everyday memories is something I truly enjoy.
And if we’re really dreaming big, we might as well stop by a car dealership too. I wouldn’t mind visiting Fiat to look at their stylish cars, or Honda for something reliable.
Of course, a lot of my shopping actually happens online, so Amazon would definitely be included. It’s convenient and often feels like a treasure hunt.
We also can’t forget our fur baby. She deserves to be spoiled too, so we would definitely take her to PetSmart or Petco and let her pick out a few things. She’s a simple girl who finds joy in the simplest things, but because we love her so much, we’d happily spoil her a little.
And our shopping spree wouldn’t just be for us. We would also pick up gifts for our closest family and friends so we’re ready for birthdays and holidays ahead of time.
Part of this spree would also be about securing a year of fun through memberships. I’d get passes to museums, theme parks, and especially the aquariums we love. Since we enjoy visiting aquariums, having a membership means we can go back whenever we want to see the sea life and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
Finally, my shopping spree would also include experiences. That means setting aside money for travel plans, family activities, or lessons our daughter might want to try. I usually plan our trips myself and enjoy researching flights and hotels. Planning those experiences feels like shopping for memories rather than things.
When I really think about it, my shopping spree wouldn’t just be about buying things. It would be about discovering little treasures, supporting the interests of each family member, and creating experiences and memories that stay with us long after the shopping spree is over.
