If I Were Guaranteed Not to Fail

Daily writing prompt
What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail.

I’ve been thinking about today’s writing prompt: What’s something you would attempt if you were guaranteed not to fail?

Interestingly, I can’t think of just one thing. Maybe that’s because I’ve never really looked at life in terms of failure. When something doesn’t work out the way I imagined or hoped, I don’t see it as a failure — I see it as a lesson, a chance for a do-over, a stepping stone to where I’m truly meant to be. I believe that there’s a reason and a purpose for every experience, even the ones that feel disappointing at the time. What seems like a setback is often an essential part of the journey, guiding me to the path I’m supposed to follow.

Looking back on my life, every choice I’ve made — big or small — has taught me something. Even when things didn’t go as planned, I always came out stronger, wiser, and better. I feel blessed that I’ve been able to stay positive through those experiences, because something better always emerges. Each lesson prepared me to move in the direction I’m truly meant to go.

Of course, I won’t pretend that setbacks never hurt. I’ve made decisions that disappointed me, choices I thought were right at the time. And yes, there were moments of disappointment or pain. But I don’t wallow in them for long. I move on to the next plan because I always have backup plans — A, B, C, and D. I like to be prepared, to anticipate the what ifs, because staying stuck in regret doesn’t help anyone.

Faith and guidance play a huge role in how I navigate life. I always pray and remind myself: if it’s not God’s will, it won’t happen, and I’ll be redirected to the right path. With God’s grace, even experiences that seem like setbacks become stepping stones to what I’m meant to achieve.

So what would I attempt if I were guaranteed not to fail? Honestly, there are many things I would pursue — because I don’t see anything as failure. For me, it’s about passion and purpose. If something truly resonates, if I feel that spark, then I go for it wholeheartedly. I plan, I prepare, and I make sure I can accomplish it.

But I also know it has to come from the heart. If I don’t feel passionate about something, it doesn’t make sense to pursue it. Life is too short to chase things that don’t bring joy or fulfillment. If it doesn’t make your heart happy, why pursue it at all?

In the end, life isn’t about guarantees. It’s about showing up, learning from each experience, and responding with courage, faith, and positivity. Failure isn’t real — it’s just a stepping stone on the path to where we’re meant to be.
