When someone asks, “What’s your #1 priority tomorrow?” I always pause. Do they mean tomorrow as in my daily routine, or tomorrow as in the future — my bigger goals and dreams?
For me, tomorrow usually starts with the practical stuff. My #1 priority is my daughter: making sure she’s ready for school, has the right clothes for the weather, her lunch and snacks packed, her forms signed — everything she needs to feel cared for and comfortable. That’s the anchor that keeps the day flowing smoothly.
Next comes food — I normally eat just two meals a day, but I think about what my husband and daughter will have for lunch and dinner. Their meals aren’t just food on the table — they’re love and care, and planning ahead keeps our family life balanced.
After that, I make space for the rest: creative work, house chores, and evening family time. These layers are important too, but the foundation is always the essentials.
Now, don’t get me wrong — the bigger future matters to me. I have goals, dreams, and plans for where I want life to go. But I’ve learned that even the best-laid plans never go exactly the way we imagine. Everything changes, nothing is constant except change itself. That’s why I always have plan A, B, C, and so on — because flexibility is key.
Through it all, I lean on God. If something is meant to come to fruition, it will. If it’s not, I trust I’ll be redirected to a better path — one that’s truly meant for me. Taking life one day at a time doesn’t mean ignoring the future. It means building it carefully, step by step, with love, faith, and adaptability.
So, when I ask myself, “What’s my #1 priority tomorrow?” It’s simple, take care of the essentials — my daughter, my family, and our home — and trust that the steps I take today are guiding me toward tomorrow.
Sometimes we overcomplicate priorities. But really, it can be as simple as knowing what holds your day together and choosing that first.
