When Inspiration Makes Me Most Productive

Daily writing prompt
When do you feel most productive?

I feel most productive when I’m inspired. It’s not something I can schedule or force—it just happens. Sometimes it’s when I’m near water, like the ocean or a quiet lake or pond. Other times, it’s during road trips, passing by scenic routes with music playing and thoughts swirling. And then there are those early mornings or late nights, when everything’s still and I can hear myself think. That’s when the ideas pour in—one after another—and I do my best to catch them while I still have the energy and the drive.

I used to carry a little notebook with me everywhere, just in case something sparked my creativity. Now, my note app does the job. It’s ready anytime inspiration hits. Whether it’s writing, photo or video editing, or typography design—I do it all from my phone. It’s wild to think how far we’ve come. There was a time I could only do these things on my laptop, which meant having to wait until I got home or found a quiet spot to work. Now, I create wherever I am.

I remember telling my then-boyfriend (now husband) how cool it would be if we could do everything on our phones—banking, shopping, editing, and designing. And now? We can. Technology has opened so many doors, and honestly, I’m just thankful for what it allows me to do today. I don’t take it for granted.

Right now, I’m just enjoying this creative freedom. No limits. No waiting. Just me, my thoughts, my phone, and the moments that move me.
