A Well-Traveled Pair of Boots

Some shoes are just shoes. Others? They become part of your story. My taupe suede knee-high boots have been with me through some of my favorite adventures—walking the streets of Japan, exploring Philly and Chicago, and soaking up the sun in LA and San Diego. They’ve also strolled through Rhode Island and Connecticut, making memories with every step. But if there’s one trip that stands out the most, it’s the unforgettable road trip they took with me across Canada.

Road Tripping Through Canada

From Toronto all the way to Nova Scotia, my boots carried me through some of the most beautiful, history-filled places I’ve ever seen. We made stops in Niagara, Montreal, Quebec, and so many charming towns in between. Every step was a new experience—walking cobblestone streets, standing in awe at breathtaking views, and soaking in the rich culture of each city. And the best part? Despite having 3-inch heels, these boots were shockingly comfortable. I walked for hours—sometimes entire days—without my feet hurting. It amazed me that something so stylish could also be so practical. They weren’t just fashionable; they were the perfect travel companion.

Falling in Love with Quebec and Montreal

Quebec stole my heart. I’ve always wanted to visit as many UNESCO heritage sites as I can, and Old Quebec felt like stepping straight into history. The cobblestone streets, the architecture, the atmosphere—it was like being inside a movie. And the funiculaire ride? Absolutely magical, especially in the fall, when the whole city was glowing in gold and crimson. Montreal was another highlight of the trip. The mix of old-world charm and modern city life made it unforgettable. Whether it was wandering through historic sites, visiting cathedrals, or simply taking in the energy of the city, every moment felt special. It’s one of those places that stays with you, and I know I need to go back and experience it all over again—this time, at a slower pace.

A Pair of Boots with a Story

These boots have taken me to so many incredible places, and after almost 13 years, they’re still going strong. Sure, the heels have a few scuffs, but that just adds to their story. They’ve been through rain and miles of adventure, yet they’re still in great shape—just like the memories they hold.

And one of the most unexpected yet unforgettable moments? I was even wearing these boots when I was lucky enough to meet my favorite travel guru, Rick Steves. It felt like a full-circle moment—standing there, in the very shoes that had carried me across so many incredible places, while meeting someone who has inspired so much of my love for travel. It was a reminder that every journey, big or small, shapes who we are and connects us to the world in ways we never expect.

The journey isn’t over yet. I’m hoping to return to Quebec and Montreal soon—to stay longer, explore deeper, and create even more memories. And this is just the beginning! I have so many stories to share from this road trip—each place had its own magic, and I can’t wait to write about them one by one. So stay tuned—there’s so much more to come! Until then, my boots (and my heart) are ready for the next adventure.

Making memories, one step at a time. These boots have walked me through the most beautiful destinations. 🙏❤️
