Thankful Tuesday: Heartwarming Moments of Parenthood

Happy Halloween everyone! πŸŽƒ

Hope you all had a wonderful one. 😊

We had another great year of celebrating Halloween with our little one. She had so much fun trick-or-treating with her cousin. We went around their neighborhood and both of them got a pretty good stash just like last year. πŸ₯°

It was a joy watching them walk around holding hands and helping each other. It was so cute! 😍 They played a little bit afterward and had a little bit of a hard time letting go when it was time to say goodbye. It’s understandable. They get along really well and enjoy each other’s company. I love watching them interact with each other. They’re sweet little girls. 😍

Baby girl has been talking about how excited she is to go trick-or-treating with her cousin. When she woke up this morning, she also reminded me of doing her nails. 😁 I usually say no whenever she says she wants to paint her nails but two weeks ago I saw a super cute Halloween-themed Hello Kitty nail decals at TJ Maxx and I thought it would be perfect for her costume. Plus she doesn’t have to paint her nails with other colors. You just need to put the nail decals and the clear polish on top. So I made an exception for that. We were supposed to match but I didn’t have time to do mine. I think it would’ve been cute as we both love Hello Kitty, especially me, the Mama! 😜

So I did her nails and she was super excited about it and was careful not to mess it up. However, she had a little booboo when we were trick-or-treating and fell. She got a scrape on her hands, and on her shin plus a bruise and she said her knees hurt a little bit. Then when we got home we noticed the Hello Kitty on one of her fingernails got ripped. She thinks it was from when she fell, which is most likely the case. I felt so bad when she fell. She was trying so hard not to cry,Β  she shed a few tears but quickly composed herself and enjoyed the rest of the night trick-or-treating. Later on, when it was bedtime,Β  she told me that she felt a little embarrassed that her cousin saw her cry. I explained to her that it was okay and that she didn’t need to be embarrassed about it because there was nothing wrong with crying. Crying is one of the many ways we express ourselves when we are hurt. I told her that everybody cries, even grown-ups. She seemed relieved, and a few minutes later, she fell sound asleep.

Parenting can be quite challenging at times. Children do test our patience and I’ve lost mine from time to time. But as challenging as it can be, it is also so rewarding in many ways. Nothing compares to the joy of seeing your little one’s face light up because she had a wonderful time doing something fun and exciting. My favorite part is when my daughter says thank you and gives the sweetest hug and kisses. It’s like a pat on the back for parents saying, “You did great today Mom/Dad!” Just simple moments but means the world to both of us.

Grateful for those moments of pure love and joy that are tucked away in the deepest part of my heart. πŸ’–

Our little kitty cat says,
“Have a meowbulous rest of the week!” 🧑
