What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?
Wisconsin aka the Badger State or America’s Dairy Land.
Boy, was I wrong about Wisconsin? I feel ashamed of how ignorant I was about the state until I experienced it firsthand. My only knowledge of Wisconsin came from hearing ‘Hello, Wisconsin!’ on ‘That ’70s Show,’ and, to be honest, I thought Kelso was yelling ‘I love Wisconsin!’ Well, I was wrong on both counts, a real double whammy of mistakes, folks! 🤣 Who else thought it was ‘I love Wisconsin’? Come on, don’t be shy. Spill the beans. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who thought that. 😁 Back then, I remember saying, ‘But what’s in Wisconsin?’ Little did I know that Wisconsin would become one of my favorite states and hold great meaning in my life. It was a complete 360-degree pivot for me. My husband teases me every time we talk about Wisconsin, saying, ‘It looks like Wisconsin had the last laugh,’ because my assumptions about the state were completely wrong. I should’ve done my research and educated myself instead of making false assumptions. That would have been the smart thing to do. It’s never good to make assumptions, and that applies in all areas of our lives. 😊
Now when I hear someone ask about what’s in Wisconsin and they have that disinterested look on their faces, I can’t help but smile because I am reminded of myself back before I knew anything about Wisconsin. Whenever I have the opportunity, I speak of Wisconsin with high regard. I tell people how beautiful the state is, the friendliness and hospitality of Wisconsinites, and the unique and delicious food offerings they have.
My husband and I were fortunate to travel to many different cities in Wisconsin while working as part-time school photographers. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. We were grateful to be paid for doing two things we love, which are photography and traveling. Our job also allowed us to travel to other states. Our schedules were often hectic, and patience was essential as we worked with students and school staff. We were also fortunate to have the best colleagues who we enjoyed working with. ❤️
Wisconsin has so much to offer. It’s such a beautiful state that is so underrated. One must visit it at least once to know what I’m talking about and you’ll probably go back for more. 😊 There is so much beauty to explore especially if you love the outdoors. The state’s natural beauty provides numerous opportunities for family outings, including parks, lakes, and outdoor activities. And since it is a family-centric state, many areas in Wisconsin are known for their safe and family-friendly environments, making it a great place to raise children. Oh, did I mention that Wisconsin is also the “Waterpark Capital of the World?” Another reason to visit Wisconsin and of course if you love cheese, look no further! Ya need to go! 😊 They’re also known for their beer and bratwurst. The city of Sheboygan, in particular, is famous for its bratwurst and has earned the nickname “Bratwurst Capital of the World.” 😉
Okay, I’ll end this post here because I’m getting hungry talking about food. 🤣 I have so much more to share about Wisconsin but I’ll save it for my travel posts. So stay tuned for that. 😉
Meanwhile, here’s a glimpse of beautiful Wisconsin. 😊
