What things give you energy?
Ah, mood boosters. Our day-to-day life can sometimes be overwhelming and draining especially if you didn’t get a good rest the night before and you’re starting your day with just half the energy and enthusiasm that you’re supposed to have. My usual energy boosters in the morning are the hugs and kisses of my loved ones. It helps set the tone of my day. A hug and kiss from my husband before heading to work and a sweet good morning with a hug and kiss from my daughter. Then as soon as I get up, here comes our lovely fur baby being all talkative, asking for a treat. But she’s the sweetest and I can’t say no. π» Sometimes my daughter would say “feed me first Mom.” π€£
A good laugh is another energy booster for me. I feel blessed that my daughter and husband never fail to make me laugh and so does our fur baby. In addition to this, my new sources of laughter are old BTS videos, especially from their rookie days. Those guys are not just super talented and humble, they are really funny too. π
My favorite shows also put me in a good mood, giving me more energy. I watch mostly travel and cooking shows with a side of K-drama (particularly Park Bogum’s or Hyeri’s) and any BTS related stuff. I’m also a big fan of Anthony Bourdain, Samantha Brown, Rick Steves and Andrew Zimmern. I used to binge watch their shows especially No Reservations and Parts Unknown. However, I don’t watch Anthony Bourdain’s shows these days because I just end up feeling sad. I still can’t believe he is gone. π’
Another source of energy for me is travel planning. Doing all the research from travel arrangements, accommodations to activities, etc, the whole process gives me a different kind of energy. I get super excited like a cat on catnip. π€£ Even little adventures on the weekends gives me so much energy. So much excitement. Traveling and exploring is my happy pill. π
Food is also an energy booster for me. I mean literally. π I’m a foodie and love trying different cuisines. I’m always on a mission to find new food and places to try. It’s a good thing that my husband and little one are the same. I love how adventurous they are with food too and so as traveling and exploring.
Music. Good music definitely boosts my energy and it inspires me. I love how we can resonate with songs and it instantly lifts our spirits up. Even with sad songs, I find inspiration that boosts my energy. I think it’s really just a matter of perspective.
And lastly, exercise, particularly Zumba. I love dancing and Zumba makes exercising so much fun. It doesn’t even feel like exercising at all and it instantly puts me in a good mood, giving me more energy in return.
So there you have it folks! These are the things that boost my energy. π
How about you? What’s your energy booster that puts you in a good mood? π€
